FOOD SECURITY AS A CATEGORY OF THE MAIN ECONOMIC PROBLEM

Summary

During the last years in Georgia, in spite of implemented transformation, the problem of food security again is important and it’s closely connected with problem of economic security. This issue has become more actual by deepen the processes of globalization and open economy.

Economic security as a part of the national security plays the greatest role into reaching – consolidating independence and stability of country, in formation of economic discipline, the slight-easing of state regulation of this issue created many negative tendencies in Georgia. It denoted the economic potential of country and even created a danger for the statehood.

In the article is presented food security as a category of the main economic problem. There is considered 4 (four) directions of evaluating of its negative influence in Georgia.

With using materials of researches that are made by international organizations and data which is based on the statistics of national agency, in the article are intentioned the concrete ways for resolving indicated problems.
